Measure portions.
Understand the kitchen.

Julie Scan explores how iPhone LiDAR measurements can help kitchen operators understand portion size and ingredient use.

Current development

Julie Scan is an iOS prototype with a LiDAR capture pipeline, bowl and ingredient calibration, and a backend for capture and calibration records. The pipeline estimates portion volume and translates volume to weight using ingredient density.

These are development capabilities, not a claim of validated commercial accuracy. Reliable capture, calibration and measurement evaluation remain central to the work.

Ask Julie.
Planned.

We plan to use Claude to help operators ask questions about kitchen measurement records, with answers tied to the underlying evidence. Customer-facing Claude API integration is planned, not live.

We are exploring retrieval, tool use and evaluation so an answer can distinguish recorded measurements from missing data or uncertain estimates.

Illustrative questions: “Which portions need review?” and “What changed between these measurements?” These examples describe intended workflows.

Product status

Julie is a prototype. Demonstrations may be illustrative. We do not claim production deployment, validated savings, customer counts or a live Claude-powered feature.
